Local Elections 6th May 2021 – Time for Ickford to Vote

Time for Ickford to Vote!

LOCAL ELECTIONS
Thursday 6th May 2021

Most of you will remember that we finished the Ickford Neighbourhood Plan last year, and on 21st May 2020 Buckinghamshire Coucil wrote to us as follows:

‘I am writing to confirm that the Council has made a delegated decision to agree the Ickford neighbourhood plan examiner’s report recommendations, that the plan meets the basic conditions and can proceed to a referendum.
The plan now has significant weight in planning decisions as per Paragraph:
107 Reference ID: 41-107-20200513
of the planning practice guidance’.

As the local elections were cancelled last year, we have had to wait for the opportunity to vote on the plan at a Village referendum. Buckinghamshire Council are now liaising with the planning department to make preparations to hold the referendum on 6th May 2021 alongside the Buckinghamshire
Council/Town and Parish/Police and Crime Commissioner elections.

The plan came out of almost three years of dedicated work, by a team of villagers, and follows a lengthy process of research and canvassing of opinions of you – the villagers of Ickford. In essence, now it is your plan, and will help shape Ickford until 2033.

We need you to support the plan and vote YES for it at the referendum, so it now can be fully adopted.

If you want to review the plan again you will find it on this website or contact either myself or David Connell should you wish to borrow a copy.

Thanks for your support,
Martin Armitstead
